The Women's Center of Waukesha has a spring luncheon every year. It is held on the outskirts of downtown Milwaukee at the Italian Community Center and begins with the purchase of raffle tickets and a silent auction. The program includes success stories of Women who have escaped an abusive home and risen above and beyond their circumstances.
There is also a speaker of national note and this year is no exception. We choose to have The Women's Center be one of our primary charities of choice. To leave a home with children in tow, not knowing what comes next but knowing that anything would be better than to continue to a victim of domestic violence is a courageous act.
If you live in Southeastern Wisconsin, we encourage you attend this event...hear the success stories of women who have survived domestic abuse situations...be part of the solution to treating victims and preventing this horrible situation throughout the community through educational programs, the hotline and training that is offered.
