My favorite video may prove I'm a geek

Word Crimes

Word Crimes.  Yep!  That's my favorite video.

Well, there may be some puppy videos I might like better than this, but they'd have to be really cute puppies.

There's almost nothing better than watching videos of Trey Gowdy questioning a witness at a congressional hearing or just giving a speech.  Seriously!  He's awesome.

Word Crimes is my favorite music video.  I think it's super clever, downright fun and far better than the song that inspired the parody.

Interesting song, though I have no idea what the song was that this is based on.  I must be really out of touch with modern music.

Bob Crane - Here's the song that inspired the parody.  The parody and video are better than this, which is my opinion is trashy.  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yyDUC1LUXSU

Oh yes, I had seen this before and also love it.    You would make Lynne Truss and William Safire proud.

So much truth in the video. I think our language is changing and these infractions are going to be less and less important. Love the video and the music.

Haha I'd not seen this one, very funny, and I agree - much better than that terrible "original" song.

Debbie Gartner - Weird Al would have made Lynne Truss and William Safire proud and I have some books to add to my reading list.

Gabe Sanders - Yeah, you're also a geek.  Own it proudly.

Roy Kelley - I hope your wife enjoys the video.

Debbie Reynolds - I hope the infractions don't lose their importance.  I'm glad you loved the video and music.

John Meussner - I carefully avoided using the word "original".

I love it.  I am not always grammatically correct and I don't care.  Sometimes I'm "southern" and people will just have to overlook that or embrace it... up to them.

Tammy Lankford - Nobody is a perfect writer, but I do think an effort should be made to meet at least a minimum standard.

I think being/writing "Southern" is charming.  It's personal and shows who you are.  Count me as one who'd embrace it.

Oh I completely agree about a minimum standard.  I do tend to even be more forgiving if English isn't a person's first language.  I understand that it's difficult to learn another language as an adult.

And I would say "Y'all stop by and have some tea on the porch" so that's what I would type.  Southern isn't always proper English, but I am pretty sure it's understandable.
