Disneyland will be celebrating its diamond anniversary on May 22, 2015 with some new attractions to wow their visitors! New attractions include the “Paint the Night” parade with 1.5 million LED lights, updated fireworks display and a shiny veneer on Sleeping Beauty’s castle!

The experts predict that there will be 14.5 million visitors this year a 8.5% increase based on the former 50th anniversary celebration.

Experts estimate that Disneyland, the 85 acre amusement park, receives approximately 44,000 visitors daily.

The new “Paint the Night” parade which is the successor to the “Main Street Electrical Parade” has been described as being immensely bright. The new attraction features 76 performers that wear costumes that light up and change color to the music. The soundtrack is to be recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London and will pay homage to the “Baroque Hoedown” of the electrical parade.

The “Paint the Night” parade has been a success in Hong Kong.  The parade at the Anaheim theme park is expected to feature a variety of floats from “Toy Story”, “Cars”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Monsters, Inc.” and “Little Mermaid”.

The upgraded “Disneyland Forever” fireworks display features a new projection mapping throughout the property, a new soundtrack and character appearances from “Peter Pan” and “The Jungle Book”.

The most intriguing attraction that’s been added is the “Celebrate” overlay for the Disneyland California Adventure’s “World of Color,” which is a narrative of Walt Disney’s vision for Disneyland.

Ever since the park originally opened on July 17, 1955 the crowds have been a consistent gripe for visitors. Vice president, Mary Niven said “We’ve been doing things over the past couple years to prepare for this.”

The park’s solutions for crowd control include opening up little-used paths which are located parallel and behind Disneyland’s Main Street. There will also be crews present to direct traffic in a counter-clockwise direction which will proceed around the night parade. Lastly, Disneyland will have staff to entertain the guests waiting in line.

My daughters love Disneyland. We went a few years ago for winter break. I am sure they are going to want to go again since it is an anniversary year. Thanks for sharing.
