The Dangers of Technology.....Yicks !

By
Real Estate Agent with EXP Realty 414-525-0563 57026-90 Broker

Like many people...I find that "speaking a text" is far easier than typing one....and faster as well...I was reviewing some texts sent to clients to retrieve some information.text

I can't put in writing what was mistakenly sent...not again...should not have been sent the first time....all I can say is....take this blog as a word of caution....Proof reading is a MUST before you click that little envelope.embarrassed

Ok....if you really, really want a good chuckle at my expense..... email me: Sally@HansonRealEstate.Net  and I will tell you what happened...the tears are still rolling down my cheeks...it would be funnier if it happened to someone else of course.....and now....well....I have learned my lesson and hope I have taught you one too !

Technology is a wonderful thing....most of the time     !

Sally K. & David L. Hanson If you are using an iPhone I would be surprised if you have any errors, but most likely meant what you said, because iphones are controlled by 'Geniuses'.

I get verbal texts all the time.  And sometimes I know what I am reading is NOT what the other party is saying!

This is a very good reminder that a little proof reading is always a good measure.

Well it's big enough for me, but not sure it would be for everyone.

Sally and David I quickly learned that proof ready lesson.  I hate to type on the little phone keypad so I also use the voice to text feature, and several times the word typed is not what I said.  I ALWAYS proof read!!!

So agree, the phone corrects the words, which may not be the ones you want to write,,, it can be so  cumbersome, and then embarassing when it self corrects to something you had no intention of expressing!  It is so easy to just hit send when you are multi-tasking-but it pays to double, triple check, and yes, your suggestion is well taken.  Thanks for the post!

Sally, Always ... Always ... Always proof read.  I'm still laughing at a text my son sent to me.  I had asked him if he was doing okay financially ... he had a small gap in between jobs.

He responded: Yes, I got laid twice last week which helped.

Of course, I responded:  Do you mean paid?

He said: Opps, yes, paid.

Every time I need a good laugh I go back to that text message and I laugh just as hard each time.

Sally and David- if your "oops" text is anything like the "x" rated text that I almost sent thanks to "speaking a text", then I'm going to have to email you to find out what it was.
