Unless you've been living under a very large rock, you can't help but to notice that after the Supreme Court's recent ruling, Facebook has turned into a very large rainbow.

People have converted their Facebook profile photos to rainbow photos in a show of support of the decision.

It's a throwback to when my girls were little, and Rainbow Brite ruled the 6-year-old world.

There are other's who believe that the Supreme Court's landmark decision will bring the end of the world as we know it. For some reason they believe that giving the right to "marry" to those of the same sex will bring about armageddon.

I love the remark I saw on Facebook: Being angry that allowing same sex marriage is against your religion is like being upset that people you don't know are eating ice-cream, because you're on a diet.

I love the humor about the ice cream and the diet. I saw another cartoon, of a married hetero couple in bed. They were shocked to find they were still together, after it had been predicted the supreme court decision would end marriage as we know it!

Yet another ego-centric misconception. Same sex marriage has been legal in several other countries for many years. Apparently, only America can bring about the end of the world.

Alan, I will have to say our world is in a mess and this is just one of many facets that were foretold long ago that would happen. Is it the "sign" to the end of the world? Doubt it, there have been many more signs than just this. I do like the fb comment though, as that is accurate. What 2 people choose to do, that doesnt involve me, is none of my business but to legally make it as marraige??

Alan May I think I saw that same Facebook comment. I find it amusing and (looking for a word...) ...well, INTERESTING! Social change is inevitable, it's part of life. I am looking forward to the day when people finally "get it." You don't get to decide how others should live, and why would anyone want to as long as "others" aren't hurting anyone.

Jenna - I've never understood the objection... as long as they're not insisting that I must marry same sex, I can't imagine why I should care?

Lottie - it seems punishment enough to allow them to marry.

David - and what if it were merely a civil (legal) ceremony to allow spouses to have legal access to insurance, finances and visitation.... and it wasn't called "marriage"... would you still have an obection?

Kate - it's not a threat to my divorce.

I was on the phone with an HOA attorney the other day and apparenty SCOTUS made another landmark decision that day that will affect Fair Housing. Definitely overshadowed by the other decision. It never ceases to amuse me what the public and the media gets stuck on.
