Learn About Fire Safety with Sparky the Dog & his Puppet Friends

For more than five decades, Preston Hollow residents have enjoyed the Preston Royal Branch of the Dallas Public Library.    I have fond memories of time spent at the library with my daughter and friends surrounded by picture books in the children's section of the library.  Today,  young children continue to benefit from all that the library has to offer.

Thursday, July 2, the Preston Royal Library will host "Sparky the Dog and his Puppet Friends." Preschool children are invited to learn about fire safety from the Dallas Fire Department.  Children will  have the opportunity to interact with each other while experiencing this event.

Take advantage of this opportunity to learn about fire safety with the young children in your life!

Sharon... this sounds like a great way to make children aware of fire safety issues. They learn and retain so much more in this kind of a setting.

Nina Hollander The children look forward to these events.  I love that our neighborhood library has so many activities for children.

Good moring, Sharon ~ some of my best memories of childhood revolve around the library and that was back in the 1950's when there weren't all that many organized activities for children. I'm sorry to see so many local libraries shutting down or limiting their hours.

Nina Hollander The profile of our local branch has changed throughout the years.  I'm glad they kept the children's section of the library intact. The rest of the library focuses on online research and electronic information resources and community events.

Obviously, when they close down entire libraries, children also suffer from lack of exposure to books. Reading has been one of my joys and passions since I learned how and I have to thank my mother for instilling this into me.
