There Are Two Types of People

@Lou Ludwig ~ hi Lou... great post and I know I'm one of the doers, but then there are those days when I'd like to stop doing and just watch!

Hi Lou -- as Nina Hollander commented -- I'm in the do-er category most of the time but there are certain times when I need to stop and reflect...recharge...relax.   It's not about being on the sidelines but a more balanced approach to life.   

Michael Jacobs ~ Michael... I find the real problem is that when I move to the sidelines a bit to recharge, I start feeling guilty! And I need to stop that!

I agree with you Nina Hollander ---- I feel I might be missing out on something if I decide a break is needed --- you and I both need to stop that.  Now!  I give you permission -- have a nice weekend.

In Hawaiian tradition we observe, we learn, we observe again, we learn. Then we do. Watching is an opportunity to learn how to do something. Many times we start out on the sidelines and through observation and experimentation we work our way into the game. Passivity does not necessarily mean nothing is done, as action cannot exist without inaction. Observation can bring insight, that cannot be grasped in the midst of action.

I respectfully disagree with the generalization that their are 2 types of people. I would suggest that experience though action and experience through observation are choices the every person makes, if you habitually choose one over the other, like anything that requires balance, you will most likely fall on your face.

The go getter's and the watch your life go by types Lou. You have to take what you want from life, it is not coming on a silver platter.

Thanks for the reminder Lou Ludwig ....you are so right! Some just sit on the sidelines and wonder how those that are doing things do it ...

Hi Lou Ludwig , Evelyn and I both have that one figured out.  We are both doers, and let everyone else watch what we do.

Great post.  Doers always get more done that those who sit on the sidelines.  If you want something done..... give it to a busy person!

I am so glad we are doers! We keep busy and our clients keep sending us their family and friends.  It works, when we do!

Doers aren't afraid of failing, but keep on trying until they succeed. Another great post, Lou.
