Herman
Thanks for stopping by and taking time out of your day to read my post. My intent is to put a smile on your face. Hopefully you’ll go away with some information you may have forgotten about or did not know. Now sit back and enjoy the post for the day.
Herman was born in Terre Haute, Indiana back in 1871. After graduating high school in Warsaw, Indiana he attended Indiana University for one year before dropping out. He went to work at the Chicago Globe. In a sort amount of time we was writing as a journalist and he moved to St. Louis MO. where he wrote for the St. Louis Globe-Democrat. He married Sara White in December 1898 and separated in 1909 after he was involved in an affair with a work colleague’s teenage daughter. He met and married his cousin Helen Richardson in 1944.
Perhaps you know Herman better as Theodore Dreiser, some of his writings include “Sister Carrie” and “Jennie Gerhardt” but he is most noted for “An American Tragedy” and “A Place in the Sun, both of which was made into a movie.
