Run and Walk with Friends in the Park September 19

By

Run or walk in Cherokee Park this September, and help support the UofL School of Music. The Friends of the School of Music are hosting this 5k run/walk, and they are filling the course with music. This is probably the only time you can go for a walk in the park and run into a steel drum band.

A Walk (or Run) in the Park

Enjoy a light run or walk through the park on September 19 to hear all sorts of amazing music and enjoy the beautiful natural setting of Cherokee Park. The race begins at 8 am. High school drumlines, a steel drum band and several other musicians will be in the park to fill your walk with beautiful music, so it will be unlike any other 5k you may have done in the past.

Meet up for the walk at Rugby Field, at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Cherokee Road. The race ends at Hogan's Fountain, one of the best-loved landmarks of Cherokee Park. Go for a run or a walk in the park this fall, and see why people love visiting the Cherokee Triangle.

The Triangle by the Park

The Cherokee Triangle begins right where the park ends, but it's not always easy to see where the boundary ends. Lawns in Cherokee Triangle are full of trees and beautiful landscaping that make them look like part of the park itself.

Homes here are designed to stand out. You'll find unique architectural details on many of the homes, both inside and out. See the shady homes in Cherokee Triangle once your walk through the park is over, and you'll start finding lots of reasons to keep coming back to this pretty part of the city.
