We recently had a Canadian visitor who injured himself with some serious road rash that needed stitches. We were able to call and make an appointment ASAP and they were very helpful over the phone. Once we got to the clinic, they helped him immediately and explained about how his travel insurance worked. The doctor saw him right away, cleaned the would and sewed it up, and provided ointment and antibiotics on the spot... no waiting around at a pharmacy.
The receptionist was very friendly and with the swipe of a credit card she was able to start the process of billing the medical insurance provider. This was a great relief as the alternative is to pay for treatment and submit a claim yourself. Judging from the board covered in thank you notes, a lot of people visiting Maui have found them to be extremely valuable in their time of need.
