Yesterday felt like the first day of fall. After a month of scorching temperatures, the air was cool, & there was a football game at Qualcom statium. Today it's raining, and yes, summer is over. It's finally fall in San Diego.
If you are still thinking of buying or selling a San Diego home before the end of the year, it's time to get moving!!! From Thanksgiving to New Year's, there is even less inventory and things don't pick up again again until mid January.
Buyers - if you have been waiting for an opportunity to buy, to avoid bidding wars, and get a little more bang for your buck, this is your time. There is quite simply, less competition at this time of year. Those sellers that have not yet sold are eager to move on with their lives and have already started reducing prices.
Sellers - If you want to sell your home before the end of 2015, get your home listed and on the market now. You've got a good 4-5 weeks before Thanksgiving and this is your best window to sell at top dollar. While homes do sell over the holidays, you will often receive a lower price point than during the peak housing market.
To quote a past president, the Fall season is often a 'kinder, gentler market' than the summer months. But if you've been putting off a real estate transaction, this is your time. As always, feel free to give me a call today at 619-379-8616.
