Yuletide at Winterthur
This is one of our favorite places to visit through out the year. It is the opportunity to see an
amazing Mansion decorated to Era . The grounds are also a mini -Longwood (10 minutes away).
There is a resturant on site , so make a day of it or add the Brandywine River Museum (also about
10-12 minutes up RT.1 North). And of course you might want to see Longwood Gardens decorated
for Christmas (something you will never forget ). Merry Christmas !!!!!!
Yuletide at Winterthur
For those of us who live in Montgomery County, Maryland, Wilmington, Delaware is close enough for a day trip. On Monday, Dolores and I traveled to Winterthur, the home of Henry Francis du Pont to see Yuletide at Winterthur, their special holiday mansion tour.
Yuletide at Winterthur is open for daily tours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through January 3, 2016. They are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day but will be open on New Year's Day. Allocate time to see the special exhibits in the museum and to visit the gift shops. We always include lunch during our visits.
