“A Real Estate Christmas"
By Larry Johnston

T’was the night before Christmas in the Foreclosed house,
The only thing scurrying, was a gray little mouse.
The plywood was hung on the windows with screws,
In hopes that vandals, wouldn't spray-paint their views.
The curtains were not on the window, you see,
while my buyer escorted his wife, to be.
I Walked through the house, almost risking my life.
leading the way, while shining my light.
When up from above, we heard such a sound,
We thought it could be, a tree fallen down.
We ran to the door and stood outside,
To see if it fell, on my brand new ride.
The snow was blowing, I could hardly see,
When out from the cold, we began to flee.
Inside we went, where it was warm,
When suddenly appeared, a twinkling charm.
The buyers looked around and the house was a-glow,
With twinkling lights and some mistletoe.
The foreclosure was delightful, with furniture and light,
While the sounds outside, rang through the night.
They looked around and everything had changed,
From here to there, had been rearranged.
When we walked back outside and into the cold,
I heard my buyers whisper and then said, “SOLD”.
