On Monday April 21, 2008, the New York State Department of State's Division of Licensing Service implemented a new online Real Estate system called: eAccessNY.

eAccessNY is an Occupational Licensing Management System which provides online services for Real Estate Professionals, approved Real Estate Schools, and the general public. The new system is a 24 hour user friendly service which is accessed with a personal identification code and password.

With eAccessNY, Real Estate Professionals can conduct a variety of transactions online including license renewal, change of address, and request of a duplicate license.

With eAccessNY, Real Estate Schools can apply online for approval of continuing education courses, to renew courses, and to add course branch locations.

The new system also allows members of the general public to search for current licensees and approved qualifying courses.

Offering online services should make life easier for the DOS as well. It's a win win.

Very interesting.  The two states I have been licensed in have provided this type of online system for years. Who would have thought that NY is so far behind?

I logged into this last week and was able to see the GRI classes I am registered for and also the Passed classes I have taken.  The plus to this was that I have not received my notification on one of my classes yet, but the Passed status was on the website.  Nice to know that NYS is progressing into the information age we live in.  Now if we could only get CE credit for some of the other courses that are out there!

Terri - Having the system in place is a big plus. Who knows, maybe the various NYS Boards and Schools will provide input in the future.

That is very nice. I know that you can renew your license online in Maryland. But I dont know if you can do the same in Washington DC and Virginia. Great post.

I have really enjoyed reading your blog. I am relatively new to AR and have noticed you have received a lot of points and have achieved a remarkable high ranking. Congratulations! May I ask if you have had success in turning your high ranking into business? I am curious if it has been a profitable venture personally as well as financially. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in your business.

THat looks great. I love that our state now allows me to log in and renew without having to do all the mailers and everything. they have all my credits online for education.  Technology is great. It saves me the trip downtown to manually turn everything in.
