A New Year's Resolution - if you are selling your home in 2016
I was just thinking about creating a post about the benefits of Staging when I saw Shar's post. January is the perfect time to get a Staging Consultation and begin the process of Preparing your home for sale.
Yes you can have a New Year's resolution that isn't about losing weight or eating better. One that is specific if you are selling your home in 2016.
There are many things that are important when selling your home:
1) Hiring a top-notch Realtor that is going to market your home in the best way possible.
2) Selecting the best price for your home and area.
3) That horrible 'D' word.....DECLUTTER.
Those are all things that are important but did you remember another really important one?
Yes....staging is just as important as everything else on the list. As billionaire real estate mogul and Shark Tank star Barbara Corcoran said "Staging is no longer an option, it is a necessity."
Here is a perfect example:
The end of 2015 I picked up furniture at two vacant homes that I had staged. One had been for sale for 5 months without a single offer. The second one was for sale for 6 months without an offer. The houses were staged with furniture and they sold within 5 weeks and 3 weeks respectively. A few WEEKS, not many months.
The numerous price reductions, the carrying costs of mortgage payments, insurance, heat and electricity, not to mention the headaches of all those showings!! Why not stage before you put your house on the market??
It doesn't matter if your home is vacant or occupied. Home Staging makes a difference.
