Trend setting modern colors
Colors play a vital role in setting a home value. The home that has the proper colors often sell faster. Most people prefer a neutral color that blends well with the surrounding and their furniture.
Is 2016 the year are you planning to paint a few rooms? Here's a look at some of the latest color trends, as well as tips on how to blend in well inside your home.
The Non-Color
I went to Sherwin Williams and Keller Moore Paint stores recently asking the sales team what color is popular. They recommend a dirty white color. One can paint kitchen with that color and it is a good contrast to the Silver stainless steel appliance. It looks good if the cabinets are dark or flooring is colored. The following is an example what one can do with their kitchen. You do not want a bright white color as the smoke coming out will contaminate and change ceiling color with a film. One needs to have painted semi-gloss or glossy to allow one wiping off during cleaning. The satin can not be wiped off.
Pigments & Binder
One needs to consider the natural light in the house throughout the day. Whether it bring more light in midday that will high light the pastel color. Try not to use the same hue as the income light. Use color code chip if in doubt. I carry a color code chips from a major paint store meant for contractor and open a contractor account to enjoy receiving a discount. Home Depot is another source for affordable painting as one can get as much 1/3 off anytie of the year.
Night Tones Colors
The new interest especially in a home with diffused natural lighting is paint these rooms with night tones. Deep purple and mid-light blue is becoming popular. Here is an example.
One can add different shades in your bedroom to add or reduce intensity to simulate dusk or dawn. Sun rise or sunset. The lights in the room also matters. There are many different lightings, LED, CFC etc. I was in lighting technology as an engineer. There is a lot of physics to compose color. That is another blog.
