The City of Austin would like to wear the crown as the"Best Managed City" in the U. S. and part of the effort to capture the title was the creation of Austin 3-1-1.
Today, the mobil app - Austin 3-1-1 provides the citizens of Austin with a simple single point of contact for every City department. Austin 3-1-1 receives over 1 million calls a year resulting in over 200,000 service request for departments within the City of Austin.
What started as Police non-emergency line for the City of Austin has become a robust Citywide Information Center where city representatives are available to answer residents concerns 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.
By downloading the 3-1-1 APP you can use it instantly (not while driving of course) to report street lights that are out, downed traffic signs (a real problem on MOPAC), remedy a feral cat situation, even dead animal removal.
