Often when we are in the midst of chaos, we lose sight of the simple because we become emotionally involved. This happens a lot when you forget to focus and think about what it is you are trying to accomplish. Professional people need to remember their end game, stay calm and if they are choking: remember to swallow.
And breathe.......we had a scare yesterday with Barney not breathing right. Thankfully we figure it out quickly for the little guy.

That's a good one Sheila. I learned a great grounding technique that helps when walking away to have a quiet moment is not an option. I carry a little rock in my pocket (a ring, bracelet etc. works, too)... just feel it, focus on it and breathe. It forces your mind down a different path, away from whatever just made you choke.

Sheila - that is a good comparison. You can choke on details when you don't look at the end game.

Sometimes we need to get out of our own way. Definitely relinquishing ownership of problems that aren't ours is key as well.
