GASP...

MIAMI GOT COLD (BRIEFLY)

When snow pummeled the Northeast and Midwest and temperatures plummeted recently, we in Miami were still in good shape — relatively. While some of you were up to your necks in snow, we were enjoying some brisker weather in the low 50s for a few days. But it didn’t last long. We’re back in the high 70s.

NBC NEWS: MIAMI IS THRIVING!

NBC’s Meet the Press paid a visit to Miami to profile its wild past and its opportunity-filled future. Over the decades, Miami has been a beacon for people seeking freedom or for holidaymakers just looking for a good time. But today, an investment in Miami is an investment in America’s new world city.

(You can watch the 25-minute documentary.)

IS FLAGLER STREET THE NEXT LINCOLN ROAD?

If you had asked me that question 10 years ago, I would have said never. But now I’m starting to think the Flagler Street redevelopment project is just what Downtown Miami needs. With new trees, better sidewalks and crosswalks, the new space will bring more foot traffic to an underutilized piece of Miami with theaters and shops. You can check out the renderings here.

WANT EASY RENTAL INCOME?

Low asking prices, easy passive income. That’s what Bogart delivers. This investment property I’m involved with is just three blocks from the beach and two from Lincoln Road. It’s a historic art deco building with 19 units, and its complete renovation leaves the building’s unique architecture in tact.

There are still great units available, with prices starting at $279,000 with no rental restrictions. This means you can rent daily, weekly or monthly and there is a huge demand for condos like this.

I’d be glad to help you through every stage of the process.

Reserve your unit now — the building re-opens in March!

FOREIGN INVESTORS STILL FLOCKING TO MIAMI

With global economies on the fritz, wealthy investors continue to pour money into South Florida real estate. According to the AP, that’s because they view Miami as the most solid investment around.

The article quotes the sales director of Elysee, one of my favorite new condos: “All of the insecurity around the rest of the world only reminds people how important it is to have assets in the United States.” (Learn more about Elysee here.)

And Finally… Puglia, Italy

I haven’t been away since my trip to Mexico in October, but I wanted to share another trip I was on recently. Over the summer, I visited my friend in Puglia, Italy. That’s the main town on the heel of the peninsula. It has the kind of architecture that’s straight out of a movie.

Everywhere you walk, you’re stepping on ancient history. Puglia has an untouched feeling like few places I’ve ever been. If you have time to swing south next time you’re in Rome or Florence, I highly recommend it.
