The people of Evanston IL will now have a chance to experience a new level of programing in 
channel 16 involving a wide range of information. The selection has city council meetings, news and the arts. It is excellent for us locals and welcomed programing.
I quote the city of Evanston,
The City of Evanston's Channel 16 has announced a brand new programming schedule featuring a wide variety of educational and informational viewing for all ages.
New programming includes "It's Good to Know!," a new educational/scientific variety show that will air twice a day. Another new program, "GovFlix," will air twice a day with interesting films and documentaries from the National Archives, restored and remastered by the City. The latest Evanston news will air as part of "City News" five times a day. Public meetings will still be aired, but will not be rebroadcast as frequently.
In February 2016, the channel will air special programming celebrating Black History Month. Three films about the history of African American artists and activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be featured twice each day.
Comcast subscribers can tune in to Channel 16 on their televisions. AT&T U-Verse subscribers should go to Channel 99, select Evanston, and then select City Channel 16. Channel 16 can also be streamed on YouTube or through the City's Live Streaming service.
In addition to the new programming, it's now easier for viewers to find out what programs will be airing and when. Viewers can see the City's program lineup during breaks, which occur over 50 times a day. The schedule is also published online at cityofevanston.org/tv.
