Friday Photo: Glass Dancer

She stands in the Hall of Nations at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.

I couldn't find a plaque with information about who created her, whether she's encased in glass or Plexiglas, or how old she is.

And is it a coincidence that I noticed her while the Mariinsky Ballet is in town?  Will she leave when they pack and head home to St. Petersburg?  I  hope that she'll stick around for a while!

That is really beautiful.  If I ever get to that area, I will need to check and see if she is still there.  Thanks for sharing!

That is very cool, I am so in awe of the creativity that others have and since I can't do something like that, I really enjoy seeing that others can!

Pat,

She is beautiful, and I am hoping you let us know her provenance!  We enjoy ballet, it has been awhile since we saw a production.  Did you enjoy seeing the Mariinsky? A

That's a beautiful piece of artwork.  I wonder if it will be leaving the Kennedy Center when the ballet company leaves town.

Ron and Alexandra, the Mariinsky is worth a trip to St. Petersburg.  Luckily, I didn't have to go that far.  There is nothing quite like Russian dancers defying gravity!  They recreated the original production of Raymonda from the late 1800's with the old choreography and costumes.  It was magical.

What an artifact for sure Patricia Kennedy .   I sure hope she becomes a permanent resident.   I know a great agent in D.C. I could refer her to.   Oh yea, you already met her.   Hope you can close the deal.
