McAlistair
Thanks for stopping by and taking time out of your day to read my post. My intent is to put a smile on your face. Hopefully you’ll go away with some information you may have forgotten about or did not know. Now sit back and enjoy.
McAlistair was born in Bronxville, New York back in 1941. His father Alistair was a Bell Labs scientist. He graduated from Summit High School and from Harvard University with degrees in physics and applied mathematics (already way over my head).
Anyway after graduation eh worked for Lucent Technologies and Bell Labs. He is better known as Dennis “McAlistair” Ritchie. So can you tell me what Mr. Ritchie is best known for even though most of his work is not widely associated with him? Well if you turn on your computer his work is in your system. He created the C programming language, a key developer of the Unix operating system. The C language is widely used today in application of the operating system and is an embedded system. The Unix also has been influential, establishing concepts and principles that are not precepts of computing. He died in 2011. He received 7 national awards during his lifetime. He is also in the Computer History Museum.
NW Arkansas the home of WalMart, JB Hunt Trucking and Tyson Foods.
Come for a visit stay for a lifetime.
