Many service providers made the purchase of your new home possible. Yes, they were paid, but in the real estate industry, often times they perform a lot of work without being paid. It is nice that they closed escrow successfully and were paid.
However, for your REALTOR®, the icing on the cake is having YOU as a happy first-time homebuyer. Your REALTOR® worked hard just so she could see you smiling with joy. Let your REALTOR® know how much you appreciated his help.
Remember that although your REALTOR® was paid, you probably did not have to pay him a penny. In most cases, the seller paid the buyer’s agent. It was a bonus to you that the seller paid both real estate commissions — and isn’t that something to be grateful for?
