We teach our One-Week Fast Track Real Estate Class every month, and we find each class of ours is special. Whether the class is large or small, there is always at least one shining star. Additionally, there is always at least one antagonist.
For the most part, I like people. I like the challenge of teaching people, and I like hearing people’s stories. Each class has students who have great stories, some of which are humorous, some are sad, and some are exciting. Each class of ours is special, each class is unique, and each class is a challenge.
We have students from all walks of life. This past week, we had a young lady just old enough to get a license and her Mom. We had a young man who just separated from the military; we had a military man and his wife (with pictures of their babe); and we had some avid fishermen. We also had some very quiet ladies, and we had some very not-so-quiet men. What all of these students had in common, however, was a desire to change their lives. For whatever reasons they had, the challenge for them was to learn a large amount of information in a short amount of time, and each one of them succeeded on that level.
Some of our students are ready to take the state exam right after finishing our class. Others will need more studying to make sure they have enough information for the state exam. In either situation, these students have met the first step of their goals, and they are not done by any means.
What happens next will depend on them. Some will take the state exam as quickly as possible, and others will wait until they feel they are ready for it. Either way, each class of ours is special, and we care about the outcome for each one of them. We ask them to keep us informed, and many of them do. Sometimes, though, those one or two students that we just couldn’t connect with are gone and we seldom hear about their careers. That’s human nature, and we’ve learned to deal with it. We also have learned to cherish the ones who made that connection, and we will teach them over and over during their career. That’s the cool part of what we do.
