Bogus Basin is just 16 miles north of Boise. It is not just for skiing. There are great summer activities!
When I first got to Boise Bogus was mostly just for skiing and winter activities. I always go up for at least one trip during the summer. I would just hike along the road with my family and marvel at being in our beautiful mountains.
Bogus Basin has definitely grown up. A quick look at their website reveals that they have they have many wonderful activities. You can ride the chairlift and hike from the skiing areas. A lift ride is just $10. I am going to find out if my family and hiking buddy are interested. Since I do not ski I have never been on a ski lift and I am 54 years old. Time to change the lack of being on a ski lift. I am thinking a nice picnic lunch. I wonder if I can bring my dog? 
There are numerous trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. You have to bring your own horse.
As a Realtor I know you can both rent or buy a Condo up at Bogus. Maybe a perfect place for a one night mountain get away. The Bogus Creek Bar and Grill is open Thursday and Friday from 4 PM to 8 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM.
There is also camping and a disc golf.
There are three lodges you can rent for special events and a summer camp program for the children.
Yes Bogus you have grown up. At 6000 ft. it is the fast way to get to the mountains.
