ActiveRain Ambassador and friend Noah Seidenberg has a contest this month Love Where You Live. I thought this would be an easy challenge for me to complete. Afterall, I am continuously writing about the area where I work, live and play. But here it is, month-end and I’m looking at a blank page on the screen in front of me.
You see, technically, I don’t live in Pasadena. My office isn’t located in the city either. While I care about it, there are many people who have far deeper roots here. Perhaps that gives me a perspective about the city as it really is a place that is more than an annual football game and a parade.
I was born in Los Angeles. Grew up in Orange County. Lived in Northern San Diego County after college. Back to The OC and the Beach. Washington, DC. Then to Pasadena. More than twenty five years ago. Before real estate.
In that time, I have explored the neighborhoods. Been amazed at the varied architecture. The beautiful vistas. Made discoveries off-the-beaten-path while on walks. Eaten in many restaurants. Shopped at flea markets, small independent retailers as well as the big box stores. Found art in expected as well as unexpected places. Been entertained as well as learned much. I have mourned things that are no longer. People watched and met many too. There are wonderful memories because of my connection with and to Pasadena. Some incredible times. Indeed. The future is bright. The city is changing. And promising. It is a city that cares.
I invite you to visit. There really is something going on all the time. I am happy to provide information. Suggestions. Or ideas. You might even enjoy it enough to stay. If that is the case, it would be my honor to represent you in your search here or in one of the many other communities where I practice real estate. You can reach me at 818.516.4393 cell.
