A For-Sale-By-Owner reached out to me. They are a distant acquaintance of mine and they are dead set on trying to sell their home without a Realtor® but they have their first showing scheduled for Saturday (after trying to sell for a month+) and they were looking to me for advice.

I am happy to help whomever I can -

So of course I asked the 'seller' if this "potential buyer" was pre-qualified for a mortgage?
HMMM... Silence - - - - -
"Ummm gonna have to check on that..."

Love your title. I once heard a seasoned agent use that phrase years ago when I was a rookie agent, and I have embraced that phrase ever since. BTW, FSBO are really not prepared to deal with all those prospects.

Your title was perfect for the theme of this post. It's such an important issue and I suspect more unrepresented selelrs even think about who they are letting into their homes and whether they are even qualified to buy a home at all.

There's clearly an issue if they have been trying to sell and are just now, after a month, having their first showing.
