OK. Summer is gone. Finally, the election campaign is almost over. Now who are you going to vote for?
For my purposes, I am going to ignore the all-media anti-Trump propaganda - and I am going to ignore all the anti-Hillary scandals. Looking at the candidates in the most favorable light, how do we pick a President? Look at their policies - and make your choice.
For me, that choice is clear. My choice is Donald Trump.
I consider the future of the Supreme Court to be the deciding factor. Trump will nominate a replacement for the late Justice Scalia that is closer to Scalia in his judicial temperament and his view of the Constitution. And, of course, if other Supreme Court vacancies become available as time goes by, Trump will nominate candidates that are expected to give a conservative view of the Constitution. The next President may nominate 4 justices. Scalia will be replaced, Justice Ginsburg (83 years), Justice Kennedy (80 years) and Justice Breyer (78 years) may retire in the next four years. The Supreme Court makes major decisions every year and these new nominees will be on the court for more than a generation. The original meaning of the Constitution was to be a limit on the authority of the new government. Hillary and President Obama want to eliminate the Constitution because they feel it is outdated. But I disagree. We need the limitation on government more than ever. That was the meaning of the Obama years and that is why Mrs Clinton must not be elected.
Immigration is another threat to our country. Not only are there a significant number of crimes committed by illegal aliens, not only are new illegal arrivals straining our schools and welfare structures but also these illegal aliens, if they are given the right to vote - they will generate millions of democratic votes and skew our election process for a generation. Illegal aliens work in this country - adding to the unemployment and lowering wages for our workforce. The social and economic impact is significant. Donald Trump wants to close the border, deport those that are committing crimes. While I do not object to a temporary work program for some, it should not be a path to citizenship. Those who want to become citizens will have to return home and complete applications to return according to law, in my view.
Trump understands the world of business and the needs of business. He will create jobs - real jobs that will excite our economy again. He will lower taxes for anybody that pays taxes and will work with Congress to enact legislation that will encourage the trillions of dollars that are lodged overseas because of punitive taxation in this country.
Trump will begin to reduce the size of government by implementing a hiring freeze and reduce by attrition the size of government. He will propose a Constitutional amendment which imposes term limits on members of Congress. He will lift restrictions on energy production including natural gas and clean coal and promote projects such as the Keystone pipemine.
For these and many other specific programs, I support Donald Trump for President - and I recommend him to you as well.
Trump has published a "Contract with America" which describes his initial proposals in his first 100 days which he will enact by executive order or propose to Congress.

It is important that all of you vote this year. It has been a long time since the choice between the candidates was as clear. If the past eight years have been good to you - then vote for Hillary to continue the policies of Obama. If you agree with me that we are not on the right track - then vote for Donald Trump to implement the changes that are necessary.
Thank you for listening.
