A Painting - A & W Root Beer, Taylor, MI, "Before and After".

As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most. I have painted several nostalgic businesses around the country. This is an A & W Drive in that was near an Art Festival in Wyandotte, Michigan, where I exhibited for many years. This A & W was located in the nearby community of Taylor, also just south of Detroit. The acrylic painting is 24" x 36" on stretched canvas.

I have been asked on occasion how I was able to create my paintings. This series shows the actual place and the final painting to show the comparison. Most of the paintings were made from, as many as 12 photographs taken from different angles, as well as closeup shots. These are the before and after shots.

I did travel and sell my art for 20 years, 43 shows in 27 states every year. From 1986 until 2006. I did it part time from 1976 until 1996 (another 20 years) Now I do it on commissions and for the Museum exhibit at the Midwest Museum of American Art.

So the answer is "Yes" I have thought about it.
