As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most. I have painted several nostalgic businesses around the country. This is The Morris Performing Arts Center, located in downtown South Bend, Indiana. The acrylic painting is 24" x 36" on stretched canvas. The Painting was commissioned as a Christmas present in September of 2016. The man who ordered the painting, requested special things on the marquee, as well as the green fountain, which went along with the Broadway play "Wicked'. A Painting - Dog 'n Mug, "Before and After" Mishawaka, Indiana. As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most. I have painted several nostalgic businesses around the country. This painting is a combination of two photos. The building, Dog 'n Mug, once a well known Root Beer car hop drive-in, closed and eventually became Dog 'n Mug. It was in operation for a few years, was sold and is no longer an eating establishment. A Painting - Pepsi Truck & Hot Diggity Dogs, "Before and After" Chicago, Illinois As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most. I have painted several nostalgic businesses around the country. This painting is a combination of two photos. The building, Hot Diggity Dogs, on Ohio Street, in Chicago and a pepsi truck I saw at Navy Pier. This was one of my early paintings, so the photo of the painting is a bit discolored.

I have painted several nostalgic businesses around the country. This is Post Office and General Store, that I found in Evinston, Florida, located in north central Florida. I was exhibiting in downtown Gainesville during that time.

A Painting - The Billy Goat Tavern, "Before and After". ***** Go, Chicago Cubs ****** As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most. A number of years ago, I exhibited at an Art Show, just across from the Wrigley Building in Chicago. Hearing that we were just minutes from the Billy Goat Tavern, with it's Chicago Cubs curse history, I had to go check it out and take a few photos. After winning the National League Championship this year and now on the way to the World Series, I felt that it was only fitting to highlight this painting as a reminder (2 comments)

A Painting - The Milk Silo - "Before and After". As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most. This photo was taken in Woodland, Indiana, south of South Bend and Mishawaka on Hwy 131 near the one block town of Wyatt. I was always fascinated by the advertisements on the sides of buildings, like "Chew Mail Pouch Tobacco" and others, but I had not seen many cement grain silos with ads on them...especially a Milk advertisement.
This was one of my early paintings in my career. It was only a matter of weeks and I noticed that it had (19 comments)
The 2016 Elkhart Juried Regional was kicked off last night with a reception for the selected artists from 22 Counties in northern Indiana and southern Michigan. The juried items will be on display from October 7 through December 4, 2016. Purchase awards were presented at the reception, with many of the remaining works of art available for sale at the museum.
This will be my third consecutive year, participating in the event. My painting, "The Elkhart Railroad Depot" is an Acrylic painting on stretched canvas and measures 24" x 36".

A Painting - Wicker's End - "Before and After". As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most. This photo was taken just outside of a junk shop in middle Georgia. I couldn't help, but paint an acrylic painting of the wicker chair. It was painted in the 1980s. With the obvious condition of it, I decided to call it "Wicker's End. Prints of the chair became one of my best sellers over the years on the road.

A Painting - The Big Chicken, "Before and After". As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most. This photo was taken in Marietta, Georgia at the corner of US 41 and Roswell Road. The Big Chicken, built in 1963, was originally a barbecue fried chicken restaurant called, "Johnny Reb's Chick, Chuck and Shake". Since I took this photo and painted the painting, the building was torn down and rebuilt. It looks similar, but is a just a little shorter. The feather on the back of the head and beak moved, as well at the eye rolled around. After the huge 68 feet building was constructed, everyone (16 comments)

A Painting - Mustard and Ketchup, "Before and After". As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most. This photo was taken at one of the many diners, I visited. It was from "Rosies Diner" that was in Rockford, Michigan, at the time. It was the diner used in the Bounty Paper Towel commercial with Rosie, the waitress a number of years ago.
