This is our entry for the November AR Contest: A Day/Week in Your Business Life sponsored by Donna Foerster.
The title of this contest reminded me of a book I read while going to school in England in the late 60s and early 70s.
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
For some reason that title, and the focus of the book, has remained in my memory banks over the years - perhaps because it was pretty grim reading at an impressionable age.
But I digress.
My daily routine (when not focused on medical events which thankfully are pretty much wrapped up for 2016 AND for the foreseeable future), is fairly standard, weekdays, weekends and Holidays.
Sometime between 3:30am and 5:00am: "up and at'em" - this includes coffee, a review of the news on the Internet (BBC, Daily Mail, various other news outlets), and of course, Active Rain.
Around 7:00am - Breakfast with Suzanne - fairly mundane - Eggs (a variety of cooking methods depending on the day), toast made from from Noble Bread, and British Breakfast sausages from Balsons (which has been in business for over Five Hundred Years (since 1515)!!)
By 9:00am - all emails have been reviewed and responded to, and we are both prepared to venture out and meet with clients, prospects, vendors, contractors - you name it. As others have mentioned in their posts for this contest, each and every day brings different tasks to the table, and our goal is to have the tasks for that day wrapped up by 3:00pm.
From 3:00pm onwards - our time is - well - our time!
As are our weekends and holidays!
There have been, and always will be, exceptions (by prior appointment only) - but very rarely...
And there you have it...
