  I was thinking about my market in Alameda, CA today to see how it is doing compared to the surrounding cities that are listed 40% to 50% less than what the sellers paid for their properties!

It seems my market is doing very well! I compiled the data of sales from January to March 2008 Only on e or two are short sales/REO properties. It just shows that in California, the market is different in every city.
