Who knew there were cool things in Arkansas?
The northwest region of the state has some seriously cool stuff going on. One of the big deals in the region is the Razorback Greenway. Lots of cities across the country have some nice biking trails or cute walking paths, but Arkansas got serious in a big way about creating this massive multi-city connected trail system for walking, biking, skateboarding, and roller skating. The cities along the path all came together in an effort to make an outstanding trailway and, after years of collaboration, they have succeeded. If you start at one end of the greenway and travel along its entirety, you will pass through six downtowns, three hospitals, and over 20 schools including the beautiful historic campus of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Start at the northern tip of the trail and you will find ample parking at the Lake of Bella Vista. The route loops around the gorgeous lake and as you head north you will pass through some beautifully landscaped hills that take you right to the front door of the world renowned Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Continue north and you might want to stop for a cocktail in downtown Bentonville. You'll see the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall in Rogers, Lake Springdale and Lake Fayetteville, downtown Fayetteville, parks, creeks, bridges, and more. If the 36-miles of paved trail is not enough for you, this system also connects with many other paths, making a new adventure only two wheels (or two feet or two roller skates) away.
