Sheepish

I photographed this Big Horn Sheep last fall in Switzerland. How could I resist? Such a beautiful animal deserves to be photographed for its uniqueness and magnificent beauty! After studying the photo, I took a closer look and examined the face. Now I understand the definition of being sheepish to a fuller extent! According to the definition, "When you're sheepish, you're like a sheep --- embarrassed and not confident."

Seller do you want to sell but are you feeling embarrassed about the appearance of your home? After looking all day on the Internet at what's for sale, and comparing what you have to other similar houses, watching HGTV, or visiting model homes, and stopping at Open Houses, do you feel embarrassed because your house doesn't look that good? Well, I have news for you!

Preparation and guidance can help you to get your home prepared to sell with confidence. Putting up a For Sale Sign is all about show and tell. You need the right agent to provide consultation based upon what you can do to achieve a good sale with confidence. Your home can show beautifully too with the right mindset and belief in yourself. If you're willing to listen and learn about what sells and how much you can realistically get with different types of scenarios, you too can sell your home and look and feel even more confident because your home was the best on the market and buyers fell in love with your home! If you need me, I'll be there!

Most sellers would not need to be sheepish if they took an hour a. Day to clean up the place

We go to some measure and effort to get good clothes, use hair products, teeth whiteners, fragrances and much more in order to make a good presentation of ourselves physically, Patricia Feager.  We think it "pays-off" in a myriad of ways.

When it comes time to sell our biggest monetary asset, should we not make the same effort?  Make some expenditures, clean it up, or take time to present it well?  It only makes sense it will pay-off there as well ...

Gene Mundt, IL/WI Mortgage Originator - FHA/VA/Conv/Jumbo/Portfolio/Refi - Amen!

Your point is clear and sharply expressed with accuracy! As I was reading what you wrote, I had a flashback to an old Oprah Winfrey show. Her guest was a beautiful and very successful woman. Her problem was that she was a hoarder and couldn't or wouldn't take care of her home. It was a disaster! Ophrah gave her the money and the people to clean up her house and they did a beautiful job. Mind you, she wasn't selling. And that was a shame because it was her golden opportunity to get out and start fresh. She stayed and within months the house looked worse than it did before.

I often wondered after she exposed herself like that to the public on National TV, did she keep her job or was she let go? Impressions are formed and consequences are paid!

I wonder with a bit of investigating if we couldn't find out the results, Patricia Feager ...

I so appreciate your wonderful communications and posts.  You have a gift!  I think you need to move back to our area and sell around Chicagoland ... and I'll keep asking you to do that ...

Patricia, love the photo of the big horn sheep. It would be great to see one in person.  As far as sellers being sheepish... you hit it on the nail... they need an agent who will assist them in the entire process... and you are the agent to do this.

I hope you do get to see a big horn sheep someday. For me, it's one of the 7 wonders of the world in the animal kingdom!

You make excellent points to sellers, Patricia!

As for that big animal standing there, I think he may need a chiropractor to adjust his neck.  He's carrying a heckuva load on his head!

Myrl Jeffcoat - Let's say Big Horn Sheep gave me more than a photograph. Big boy gave me great insights into my business. Just as he goes through life carrying a "heckuva load on his head," so do sellers who just can't seem to do it all alone and could use some real help.

Patricia Feager, absolutely beautiful picture! Some homes wear that "For Sale" sign proudly, some, not so much. Homes for sale should be appealing to buyers regardless of the market conditions. Homes show well, sell fast for the most amount of money. Great advice!

Beth Atalay - I'm very proud of it and I'll never forget the day I took that photo. It was as if the Big Horn Sheep was waiting for me to arrive with my camera! It was surreal! I felt like I was in the presence of greatness!

I believe that's what sellers want to feel, great when buyers come to see and approve with an offer or multiple offers!

Dick Greenberg - Getting the right help when help is need from a professional stager gets involved is worth every penny! In the big scheme of things, it makes a big difference. I would much rather the seller have the house ready for showing before it goes on the market than try it without preparation; then when nothing happens lower the price. Best homes go quickly and it relieves a lot of stress on the owners or occupants.

Our area many long time home owners sit on 7 figure equity cleared. They do not know what to do with the home knowing the capital gain will kill them. The $500K examption for couple is not enough to offset the tax.

The  reverse mortgage seems to make sense.
