Kevin Vitali "As important as the graphic is the headline. Make it catchy and compelling...Combine your great headline with a eye catching graphic and you will make your social media shares more compelling."
Right on target - and - re-blog!
I have learned the hard way over the years, that good post graphics with your blog posts increases click thrus and sharing.
For many years I wrote great content. I would spend all this time writing relevant content for my real estate blog... then sharing on social media. Results were less than desired. But a few tweeks in my approached changed things for the better.
The first step was adding great graphics and headlines to my blog posts. The second step I will share in a follow up article.
A Great Post Graphic Should Not Be An Afterthought
You have written a great real estate article but no one knows about it because your not drawing them in. Most of us promote our content on social media. Folks are so bombarded with images and sensational headlines. You need to compete with that.
So start spending more time on your graphics for your post and capture your viewers attention.
Here is the front graphic for an article on handling multiple offers for home sellers. I just posted last week and in one week it has had over 800 views.
Here is a graphic from an article posted today about common mistakes a home seller will make in selling their home. Posted shortly after noon today and as of 5 pm I have 75 views.
This is for my article last week, how to handle multiple offers. In one week I have had over 800 visits to this post alone.
This is a graphic from an older post discussing the buyers perception of selling your home as-is. This post has been up for just about 3 months with 1840 views.
How Do You Create Great Graphics
Bill Gassett a major real estate influencer on the internet had an article on Placeter discussing the major social networks used for content marketing for real estate. In his article he briefly touches on Canva. This is the site I have used to build these graphics. Also Bill runs a site on Google+ called Real Estate. Check out what some of the regular posters do here for graphics.
Canva is free to use and the learning curve is quite simple. It offers formats for popular social media sites like Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Linkedin.
For the photographs I use Big Stock Photo or find license free photos that requires no attribution or licensing for a commercial user thru the Google Image Search. Please do not use work that you do not have the rights to use.
I certainly would love to hear what others are using for photographs and graphics in the comments.
The graphic for this post took me less than 10 minutes to select a stock photo import it into Canva and create the image.
Don't Forget the Headline
As important as the graphic is the headline. Make it catchy and compelling. What would catch your attention. How to Blow Up Your Home Sale or 7 Common Mistakes Home Sellers Make.
Combine your great headline with a eye catching graphic and you will make your social media shares more compelling. Viewers will want to click thru the article and will be more likely to share.
Make sure if you take the time to do great graphics on your blog posts you lead your visitors to quality content or they won't be back.
The Take Away
I am sure many of you out there are writing quality real estate content on your blogs. But like me, your traffic was flat even after socially sharing your article. If you want more shares creating great graphics and headlines is one more step in getting that traffic to your blog articles.
