Festival of Tables, 2017 - A Good Time Had By All!
Each year, the Women's Auxiliary of the Salvation Army hosts a fabulous event, Festival of the Tables. Decorators from all across the region, enter a themed, decorated table to be judged by their peers as well as the attendees. Each year, I am able to add another decorator to my list who captures my eye - and the eyes of the judges, both professional and people's selection.
This year was incredibly special - one of my clients actually won the blue ribbon for her presentation for both the professionals and the people! There are so many fabulous entries, it is such a special honor to win both the professional judging and the people's choice award! Congratulations Debra Brown! We are SO proud of you!
This event also features an amazing silent auction each year and this year, I racked up, winning several of the auction items! In fact, I left the event to do a final walk-through with a client and gifted them one of the fabulous baskets that I purchased at the event! The great thing about the auction and the lunch/table sales - the proceeds go to support the Center of Hope for Homeless Women & Children and provides scholarships for Boys & Girls Club high school graduates.
This year, Thomas Davis (famed outside linebacker for the Carolina Panthers) was in attendance and his wife, Kelly, was our keynote speaker.
Kelly shared her passion for charity, her tips on raising children in today's world of technology and giving hope to those less fortunate. Surrounded by family and friends, this event is one of my favorites throughout the year - we always have a great time, as the rooms are filled with love, positivity and charity!
