The quote: 'Seek first to understand, then to be understood.' by Stephen Covey comes to mind when I think of the discord between people anymore.
Too many people today are so rigid in their thought processes that they refuse bending to outside opinions. Despite that, they still wish to be heard and validated.
Sitting back and observing online behaviors on social media sites allows me to quietly make an exit if I lack anything constructive to add.
Believe me, some days, I'd like to strike out!
AR has maintained a respectful stance and most members can have conversations without all out ranting and raving at one another. Don't get me wrong, it does happen but infrequently, thankfully!
We are all built differently, think independently and maintain separate beliefs. Giving someone a sincere chance to explain a point or express a thought is necessary for a continued respectful relationship.
