I had a conversation with another AR member earlier in the week about politics. Well sort of, we actually talked about keeping our opinions about politics off our posts and off our Facebook page.
Now I'm not talking about pretending to be someone I'm not. I can't and don't hide who I am. I'm a person who often lets my faith show and speaks my mind. However, I'm not an extremist. I'm not a "but it has to be my way or you are wrong" kind of person. I have a great deal of respect for people believing and thinking differently from me. Those to right of me, those to the left of me and those who think people made God up and those who are waiting for the Messiah to yet be born.
I, back when I was posting regularly, was very limited as to posting anything that I felt is so divisive that it basically makes half the people in the country say "oh that isn't my agent, she's nuts". I'd be willing to bet you that 75% of buyers and sellers have no idea where I stand politically. I am not sure that same statement goes for my religion due to my office decor, but I don't push it on anyone.
My point is that you might want to consider not writing with the intent of being divisive on your blog. The same consideration should be used on your social media sites as well. Again, I don't mean that you have to be silent or keep your opinions to yourself, but I do believe we should all be open minded and considerate of opinions that differ from our own.
