Green Anaconda at the National Zoo, Washington, DC
Did you know that Green Anacondas are one of the largest snakes and can grow to a length of 22 feet? You might not want to meet a Green Anaconda in the wild but you can see one on exhibit at the National Zoo in Washington, DC.
The National Zoo is one of our favorite places to visit. Dolores and I are lucky to live in the Montgomery County, Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC and it is easy for us to plan a day trip to the zoo. I suggest a day trip because there is much to see and do at the National Zoo.
Many families pack a lunch and plan to spend the day and we recommend that as a good family plan. Make sure everybody has a camera in hand to capture the special moments to be shared. If you live in the area and can frequently visit the National Zoo, we suggest that you join FONZ, Friends of the National Zoo. One of the FONZ benefits is free parking.
