Celebrating the 4th With No Fireworks? These Cities Got You Covered! by Silicon Valley REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
If you're like me and love a good Fireworks show, then today is our kind of day! It's wonderful to have a holiday full of celebrations and joy, but nothing beats a good Fireworks display at the end of the night. It's one of the multiple reasons I love Disneyland so much- almost every night ends with a dazzling show of smiley face, Mickey Mouse shaped, and absolutely stunning bursts of color in the air. And while I do love seeing these shows, I much more prefer them to be of the legal vareity. That's another reason why the 4th of July is so great- many cities will put on their own shows for us! If you live in the Bay Area, then you know that it is illegal to shoot off any kinds of Fireworks. They're dangerous and a surefire way to lose a limb or at least eyebrows! Thankfully, there are cities and city employed workers who are trained and able to set some off for all of us to enjoy... FOR FREE! Some cities even have some additional celebrations happening all day! So if you're wanting to see "rockets bursting in the air" to complete your 4th of July festivities, here are some cities that will be lighting some off... again, FOR FREE!
Cupertino, CA - 9:30 PM
Spots with the best view: Sedgwick Elementary, Miller Avenue (between Bollinger/Disney), & Creekside Park
Santa Clara, CA - 9:30 PM
Also happening ALL DAY at the International Swim Center are carnival games, face painting, jump houses and more for the kids, as well as free recreational swimming
Gilroy, CA - starting between 9:15 PM - 9:30 PM
Spot with the best view: Gilory High School
Remember to stay safe and to NOT drink & drive. With so many transportation services available, as well as AAA Drunk Tow, there is no excuse for doing it. I hope your day is spent with those you love & cherish, and also a hot dog or two! Happy 4th of July!
