There are several things that are different about buying or selling a home in the Danbury,CT area than other parts of the country. Things are:

-Buyers should realize that you are not going to be purchasing a new home. Any inspection items that need to be addressed should be health and safety. If something was code or acceptable when the house was built and isn't to today's standard, it doesn't mean it has to be replaced or fixed immediately unless the inspector says its urgent. You can deal with some of the issues over the years.

-Sellers should be willing to negotiate, especially if their house has been on the market for a while with an offer. It has generally been a flat market in most price ranges, other generally than typically starter homes. the longer a home sits on the market, the less money you are going to get.

-In addition, there a big difference in homes in this area compared to other parts of the country.
