Senior National Parks Pass to Increase August 28th
Did you know the Senior Parks Pass is only $10?
Did you know the Senior Parks Pass is only $10? The lifetime Senior Passes are only $10 today, but effective August 28th will go up to $80.
On December 16, 2016, the US Congress passed Legislation P.L. 114-289, which will increase the amount charged to seniors for this pass. HOWEVER, if a senior is on a fixed budget, the annual Senior Pass will be only $20. That pass is valid for one year from the date of issuance. Four annual Senior Passes purchased in prior years can be traded in for a lifetime pass.
If a senior has a current senior pass, these will be for a lifetime, no change for these seniors and all benefits will remain the same. If your pass has been lost or stolen, they are not replaced, a new pass will need to be purchased.
Who is eligible for a Senior Pass? Any US citizen or permanent residents that is 62 years of age or older can apply.
What does the Senior pass include?
Annual and lifetime Senior Passes provide access to more than 2,000 recreation sites managed by six federal agencies:
- National Park Service
- US Fish & Wildlife Service
- Bureau of Land Management
- Bureau of Reclamation
- US Forest Service
- US Army Corps of Engineers
The passes cover entrance and standard amenity (day-use) recreation fees and provide discounts on some expanded amenity recreation fees.
These passes can be purchased at any Federal Recreation Park that requires an entry fee. You must have proof of age and residency. Here is a complete list of sites where you can purchase a senior pass.
This won't last much longer, take advantage of this savings today!
