The First Hibiscus Bloom of the Season

By
Real Estate Agent with Aspen Lane Real Estate Colorful Colorado CRE# 40005863

This year, we planted three Hibiscus bushes which are geared toward Colorado's crazy climate.  They are hardy down to 20 degrees below zero.  If it gets down to 20 degrees below zero, the Hibiscus and I will be looking for a warmer place to call home.

The tag on the plants say that they should start blooming mid-July.

Today I came home to this treat!

So beautiful, Belinda Spillman !  In Texas many flowers don't last because of the heat.

I have Hibiscus in our backyard as well, Belinda Spillman .  They haven't bloomed yet this year, but do have buds.

Really beautiful, Belinda.  I've never tried to grow a Hibiscus.  I don't know why, they usually do pretty well here.

Simply gorgeous!  We have hot pink one around us, and many of the city streets around here have them also.  They are delight. A

Hi Belinda - Lovely photo. I'm just miserable at plant recognition, so I have to admit I clicked on your post to see - once again - what a hibiscus looked like. Just don't ask me to pick it out of a line-up tomorrow.

That looks like one of the hybrids with a Rose of Sharon unless the perspective shows it to be bigger in the picture that actual. Lovely.

Hi Belinda... I love hibiscus bushes. I have a plant that I've been putting on my front porch for at least four years now and take it in during the winter. Every so often it looks like it's on death's doorstep and then revives. Love seeing my pink flowers pop up.

I did not even know that they grow that far north! Thanks for the education. We are spoiled down here with our variety of plants that bloom all year round.
