All of the funds raised by the Surf Dog Surf-a-Thon support the Helen Woodward Animal Center, plus provide education and awareness about pet ownership and responsibility. The Center also sponsors dog surfing classes that raise additional funds for their programs.
If you’ve never seen a dog surf before this is your chance to see lots of canine surfers, perhaps 80 or so in a number of weight categories, dressed in their finest surfing gear, or maybe even bare naked!
You can register YOUR pooch for all the fun. Contestants get a FREE parking pass.
There will be lots of fun, with plenty of vendors, food, a doggie contest, dog agility course, live music, and of course our spectacular Southern California beach weather.
Dog Beach is located on the Coast Road/Route 101 at the north end of Del Mar just south of the Via de la Valle intersection (Solana Beach). Parking is NOT free, and is limited, so expect to park a bit of a distance and walk. But think about all that good exercise!
