Kentlands Dahlia

 

I photographed this dahlia in our home garden in Kentlands. The end of the growing season is near and I do not know if I will be able to replace the two dozen cut dahlias on display in our home. If you are thinking about your spring gardening, you may wish to include some dahlia plants as a source for cut flowers.

Claus struggles to keep up the morale of his soldiers all the while missing his family back home. Then he is ordered home sooner than expected. To his surprise, he is charged with wrongful civilian deaths during a Taliban attack and must face trial. 2016 Oscar nominee for Best Foreign Language Film.

I once worked on a Dahlia farm, I dug the holes to plant a 2-acre field, until the farmer rigged something on his tractor to do the digging and at the end of the year I dug up the tubers. The most fun though was cutting several buckets of flowers and walking around town to businesses and selling bouquets of Dahlia's and having a flower cart where I sold them on a street corner.
