7 Top Reasons Why People Are Moving to Las Vegas & Loving It

As someone who’s been living in Las Vegas for over two decades and loving every minute of it, I can honestly say the reasons to move here are too many to count. However, as moving home is a huge decision, I’m sure you’ll need some hard facts to go with my stories of what an awesome place this is. This neat little Infographic on the Las Vegas Real Estate Market 2017 offers some important data to prove why moving to Vegas is a great idea.

I’ll go into more details on those and many other reasons that make Las Vegas a fantastic place to live.

  1. Living in Las Vegas Is Cheap

I know this sounds unbelievable. Las Vegas is a royal beauty of a city and has some of the most expensive entertainment venues in the world. While being a tourist, you can spend a fortune here, but actual costs of living in Las Vegas are rather low.

For example, in San Francisco, the average cost of living plus rent amounts to about $8,100 per month. New York is a bit cheaper with $7,250/mo and Miami is $5,600/mo. Las Vegas, however, costs only about $3,800 per month.

Did I forget to mention that the state of Nevada doesn’t have a state income tax?

As you can see, the cost of living is cheaper in Las Vegas.

  1. Glorious Nature and Climate

I’m sure I’m not the only one out there who wants to live in a beautiful place with nice weather. Whether a nice view is at the top of your list or not, it definitely is always a bonus.

Well, Las Vegas has the beauty of nature in spades. Many people have no idea of how stunning the desert can be as there is the stereotype of it being nothing but scorched and barren land. However, a simple Google search of the views surrounding Las Vegas will show you how wrong that idea is. Nature here is spectacular, especially if you go a bit down to the south of Nevada. Be sure to take a look at the photos of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. You see it once and you’ll never want to leave the city that allows you to live so close to this monument of nature.

If you really love the views you can even live in the popular gated community with homes for sale in Red Rock Country Club that is a short drive to the best hiking trails.

If you are more into the urban views, Las Vegas will fit your tastes perfectly as well. It houses some of the most incredible modern buildings on the planet and new ones are being built every year. For families with many members, each with their own unique taste, moving to Las Vegas offers a chance to enjoy a bit of any world.

Do not forget that all this beauty comes with a climate that will have you wearing t-shirts and sundresses most of the time. And no humidity to ruin your hairstyle!

  1. Cheap Housing

It’s not only living in Las Vegas that is cheap but also buying your own home. The average Las Vegas listing price is $259,000 in 2017. Note that home prices have gone up from $123,000 in 2012 to $212,500 in 2017. With the population growing constantly, affordable homes, and low living costs, you can be sure that buying a house in Las Vegas is a fabulous investment for your future.

  1. Unlimited Professional Opportunities

As Sinatra’s song goes, ‘it’s a make you town or a break you town’. But I’m sure that Las Vegas is much more of the ‘make you’ variety. At the moment, Las Vegas needs over 10,000 workers for 3 enormous projects with the total cost going over $10 billion. Those are set to be completed by 2020, but they aren’t the only businesses offering opportunities.

All the major tech developers ranging from Sony to NASA have facilities in Vegas. Even if the actual production is located elsewhere, this city is the safest place for their data storage as it has the lowest risk of natural disasters in the US.

Businesses located in Las Vegas are so versatile, everyone can find a job, and you can be sure it’ll be a well-paid one. In fact, the service industry wages here are the highest in all of the US and many other countries.

If starting your own business is your main goal, here you’ll be able to find investors, qualified employees, and affordable facilities, not to mention clients, especially if you are targeting tourists. Vegas gets almost 43 million of them a year.

  1. Unmatched Entertainment Options

The reason there are so many tourists in Las Vegas is that there is no other place that can offer such a wide variety of entertainment. Here everyone can find something to enjoy.

Gambling tables and slot machines in grocery stores? Check! Most fantastic live shows on the planet? Check! Best restaurants of any ethnic cuisine? Check! Malls and boutiques filled with quality goods? Check! Conventions and seminars on any topic? Check!

There is absolutely no type of entertainment you won’t be able to find in Las Vegas. In case you do manage to find a blank in this tapestry of fun providers, you have just discovered a goldmine of a business opportunity.

  1. Cultural Diversity

Do you enjoy experiencing different cultures and want your kids to grow up with a chance to do the same? If yes, moving to Las Vegas is perfect for you. Millions of people from all roads of life and places understand the benefits of this city. Thus, they move here and bring pieces of their national treasures with them.

The result is a multicultural city where you can see the best almost every community on the globe has to offer. Your opportunities for contacting different cultures increase further with tourists, who come from all over.

  1. Moving to Las Vegas Is Easy

You can buy Las Vegas real estate quickly and move here just as fast. Starting your life in this new place is sure to be easy as well because there are so many people moving here. The people of Las Vegas are extremely friendly and very accommodating to newcomers as many of them were in your position.

Do you have any questions to ask or any of your own stories about fantastic Las Vegas experiences to share? I’ll be thrilled to hear them, so be sure to leave a comment!

Good morning, Williams.
This is a great overview of good reasons to live in the Vegas area.  I'm not sure "cheap" describes the cost of housing but it certainly seems more affordable than some places... depending on where you're comparing it to.

Welcome to the ActiveRain blogging platform.   I encourage you to continue blogging to develop a reputation for knowledge of the area.

You forgot to mention that with thousands of people coming from California to Las Vegas , now he have car acidents all over the City daily, with reckless road rage drivers speeding in every street of this City because they don’t respect the Traffic Laws. We have more burglaries, robberies , Marijuana smell everywhere , even in Children Parks and bussinesses like Walmart. We have a lot of homelesses and beggars all over the City. The groceries prices went up in Supermarkets making more difficult for locals afford to eat. Bussiness , Banks , Schools , etc are very full of people. There are a lot of violence in our Beautiful Las Vegas. Rentals and house prices are very expensive now. I live in Las Vegas for 19 years and I loved this City so much !!!
