I'm thankful for other bloggers

By
Home Builder with The Flooring Girl

So, I'm continuing on this "Thankful" stream of posts, thanks to Debbie Reynolds' challenge for the month.  Today, I want to share how I'm thankful for other bloggers and how much they've helped me, and how much they can help you.

This post is prompted by a recent article, 15 affordable DIY projects you can do to increase the value of your home.

Say what?  Isn't this a competitive article to some of the stuff you've written?  Well, that's not how I see it.

Let me explain.

Do you remember the featured article I wrote a few weeks ago?  It was 3 Simple tips to get your articles to rank higher.  In there, I discuss the importance of guest blogging and sharing (and in return receiving links back to yours).  We all get ahead by helping each other out...it's the power of networking.

So, I got this note on Facebook yesterday from Jeff Proctor, a blogger I know from a couple of blogging facebook groups.  He asked if there was anywhere in the above article where he could add a link back to my site (and of course that was an easy "yes" for me).  I mean who wouldn't want an extra backlink to their other article?

He asked if it was possible for me to link back to him.  And, I one upped him, by giving him a link back from here as this site has higher domain authority (as of today, the DA for AR = 75.  His site is new, so he's trying to get it rank better, and I'm happy to help as he's been helpful to me and other bloggers.

In addition, I'm so thankful for the wonderful bloggers I've met on this site.  You guys have helped me so much, both in terms of learning to blog, and learning to market better and interact with realtors better.  You guys have been awesome.

In addition, many of you have linked to my articles (thank you!) and I've also been able to guest post on many sites.  We all help each other out.  And, by doing that, we all get to a higher place.

My goal is to try to publish one guest post/week on other sites through the end of the year.  So far, I've been able to do that for 2 weeks in a row, and this should be week #3.  Let's hope I can keep it up.  And, let me know if you have a site where I can guest post on.  (I think right now, I have 6 or 7 opportunities, so trying to check one off each week.)  But, I would love to keep this up through Jan/Feb.

Debbie: There are several pearls of wisdom in this article that are incredibly important and useful to building an online presence. Unfortunately, as you know, only a small percentage of bloggers truly understand and utilize this methodology.

I get offers all the time from people asking if they can self-promote, er, guest post on my personal blog, and I tell them NO. However, I would make an exception for you, Debbie. You're one in a million.

Steven Nickens So glad to hear that you're going to put this to good use.  I'm so excited with the progress I've made on this over the last 5 to 6 weeks.

Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents Oh thank you, you're so sweet.  I would love love love that opportunity.  Do you cater to luxury home owners/buyers?  I had an idea last night to do a blog post on what types of floors luxury home owners prefer.  Let me know...and let me know if dark is what's popular there.  If not, I can come up with another topic...and also if you have a suggested topic, I'm happy to do that as well.  Thx.  You're the best.

Grant Schneider That's great.  We definitely need to go to Starbucks or Taza soon.  Just give me a shout.  Now, while I'm busy, I definitely have a lot of flexibility with my schedule, so I'm happy to meet when it's good for you.

Hi Debbie: Yes, dark floors are very popular but so are lighter floors. I'd say the trend has been dark for a while but some owners want something different, so they are branching out into the grays. It depends on what types of cabinets they have throughout the house.

I sell luxury homes yes, but I also sell homes to people who would like their homes to look just like a luxury home! So that topic would be very timely and broad enough to appeal to my audience. Everybody wants that look of luxury!

Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents  PERFECT.  That's exactly how it is here.  Very dark followed by very light.  Gray extremely trendy.  And, yes, that's how my customers have been...they want the luxury look.  Yay.  I will see if I can work on this one next week or else following week.  Thank you.

It’s super good to do all of this as much as possible; and I wish I could do more of it and; I wish I could do the comments in bulk as well sometimes
