A great Christmas gift idea!!!!

By

Buying a home can be hard.

Putting enough money aside for a down payment can be near impossible.

Well, it is the Christmas season.

Step one is to take the money you were going to spend on each other and put it into the down payment kitty.

Ask family who normally trade gifts to give cash that can be put towards a down payment.

Think hard on this.   Yes, you give up gifts for the time being, but you get closer to that home you want.

Sometimes it is the small home that gets you started

Great advice, there are studies made how much an average person spends on gifts for Christmas.... hope you have a large family:)Endre

Good morning, William Feela small homes are in big demand and builders are building smaller homes because of density concepts with subdivision approvals.......

Hello William,  good suggestion for first time buyers.  Last year our present to each other was to update 3 bathrooms, this year will be new carpet.

Hi William Feela - Where there is a will there is a way. This is certainly a way to get you to that home you desire.

I am hearing that more and more families are not exchanging gifts since everyone seems to have everything they want when they want it. Saving for a home or a second home is a great idea.

Great post! People don't know, what they don't know... and so the tradition of exchanging unwanted gifts continues. And the tradition of recycling unwanted gifts in years to follow doesn't end either.

People need two basic things: 1) Food; 2) Shelter.
