I want to personally THANK ALL of you for your prayers. I went to Orlando and went to see my mom. Outside of the usual she was in great spirits. For all who do not know she has the beginning stages of dementia and Alzheimers. We spoke for some time catching up on life in general and wanting to know everything she knew concerning her health.
She has a couple doctor’s appointments coming up concerning her eyesight and hearing. But spunky? Yes she still has that and more. And she has a great love for God and she knows where her blessings come from. Living in Michigan the Florida sun can be oppressive. While talking to her I caught myself sleeping in the chair next to her. I’m glad Sheri was with me. I do have many brothers and sisters in the Orlando area so there is always someone available to check in on her. My mom is “old school” where independence is key. I received that from her. May be it can be called a stubborn streak. We all know that kind of parent. When I knocked on the door I’m not going to tell you I wasn’t a little scared (maybe a lot) but more importantly I knew God would take care of it for all of us. I have to keep reminding myself it’s His will not mine. Now that is hard to grasp.
But all in all she is still here with us. A little cranky but after 11 children she has a right to be. In closing I thank all of you and I honor you. I will keep you informed.
