Tips for Avoiding the Flu

This Flu season is rampant in 49 states currently.  I have been paying attention to the news and watching how healthy people are succumbing to the deadly virus.  A healthy Mother of three and a weight lifter and teenagers and others you would not expect have died from the flu.  It is something to take very seriously.

The doctors say to stay away from big crowds if you can and Wash your hands often!  Washing your hands and not touching your face is very important to avoid catching the flu.  Cover your mouth when you cough and hope others do as well.

Working in real estate, you have to keep appointments and often times your client comes coughing and sneezing.  You are constantly walking into homes where the virus could be harboring.  How can you stay healthy in such an environment?  I do wash  my hands often and I always keep antibacterial hand gel in my car.  I also have hand wipes.  I use Air Borne to boost my immune system.  There are lots of products on the market for this but I like Air Borne.  It works.

I even give Air Borne to my clients and other realtors, so I can keep healthy.  Eat a good balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables.  Get the sleep you need.  All these things will help.

Another thing you can do is wipe down the door knobs of your listings. Any place that clients touch like the door handles of your car can be a breeding ground for germs.  A little prevention can go a long way.  Flu season will be over in another month or so, that's the Good News!

Hi Ricki- I just read about a 10 year old boy who died from the flu. And today at the doctor's, her assistant had the flu two weeks ago and she said it was worse than anything she'd experienced. You're so right about keeping our hands washed and using wipes when we need to.

Good evening Ricki Eichler McCallum ,

Its amazing those who have succumbed to the flu. One of my son's good friends parents both got the flu in Houston and went to the hospital. The wife made and the husband did not..after 54 years of marriage..so sad.

Thanks Myrl, we just have to be so careful especially this year with the flu.

Yes, William, we can try but sometimes it's gonna get us.

Kathy, I have been sick with it and this is worse than any time I have ever had it.

Dorie, so sorry to hear this. So sad!  Everyone needs to get help as soon as possible if they have symptoms.  It is hitting a lot of people old and young alike.
